I know that life is ALWAYS full of adjustments!  Can you imagine how boring life would be if we didn't have adjustments, challenges, and trials??  I know that I don't have any more adjustments in life than anyone else, but over the past few months I feel like I've had my share.

It has been an adjustment losing my Dad.  I miss him.  I miss being able to just pick up the phone and get his Fatherly advice that I need SO much!  It's hard to believe it's been just shy of 6 months since he has been gone.  It seems like it has gone fast, yet it seems as if I haven't heard his voice, squeezed his neck, or gotten in one of our father/daughter disputes in eons.  I often find myself asking myself, 'how would Dad handle this?' or 'what would Dad say about this?'  I am grateful for the Tender Mercies where I have felt him and known he was near since his passing!

It has been an adjustment getting use to a new Mom.  I have often felt the easier part was losing my Dad.  Adjusting to a Mother who is just not the same without my Dad here, not that I blame her at all, has been the harder part.  I miss the Mom I use to be able to talk to for hours, get her advice, and rely on so much for extra help in so many ways.  I love her and pray that she can work through her grieving process sooner than later and that I can know how to help her.

It has been an adjustment having Brandon working full time again.  He started a new job back in September.  Don't get me wrong...we have been extremely blessed getting this job with Caffall Tile, but it would be different if it was a job that allowed him to only be gone 10 hours a day, but that is not the case.  Since the job is in Flagstaff, the nights that he does come home he leaves at 3:30am and gets home around 7:00pm.  So YES it has been a massive Adjustment to be, what I feel, a single mom of 12.  I've learned that I take him for granted on so many levels!  Things like taking the seats in and out of the big van, building a fire, making dinner, helping bathe kids, dealing with our mobile home park, changing out light bulbs, gathering us together for family prayer, and just being here to kiss me goodnight.   One of the biggest adjustments of having him gone is him not being here to watch the kids while I get my exercise, which I long for!!! Never thought I would miss running so much:) Exercising on the eliptical just doesn't do the trick when I can still hear the kids fighting!!:)

AND until these Adjustments stop coming I guess I will just continue to put on my big girl panties and enjoy the ride.   Through all of life's Adjustments I am so grateful I have loving Heavenly Father who never fails to pull me through each hard moment.

The big 8 and Baptized!!

Our crazy little Zach turned the big 8 on the 6th of January and got baptized that evening.  It's hard to believe that the 4 boys that I have referred to as the 'Little Boys' will all be turning 8 this year.  Zach was so cute all that day...he kept coming up to me saying 'Mom, I am SO happy!'  He has set a good example for the other 3 that will follow in his footsteps later this year!!

We love you Zachie Boy and are so proud of you and your decision to get Baptized!!

Before I Forget...

There are SO many funny things that happen around here that I always find myself saying, 'I need to write that down before I forget!'...and then of course it NEVER happens!  SO...before I forget here are a couple funny things that were said recently...

It was a couple days before Christmas and my in-laws were on their way to visit for a couple days.  I had been telling the kids all day to get in and help and clean up because Grandma and Grandpa were coming.  Well...it wasn't too long before they were to arrive when I looked at Maron(our not yet 2 year old) and said 'Grandma and Grandpa are coming!  They will be here in a minute.'  Maron then replied, 'But Mom...Grandma got ran over by a reindeer!!!'

We couldn't stop laughing!

It was Christmas Eve and Maron kept getting into EVERYTHING so I raised my voice at her and told her to stop what she was doing...That's when she put her hands on her hips, got big tears in her eyes, put her head down and said, 'I'm on the Naughty List!!'

It took me about 15 minutes to convince her that she was actually on the good list!

Couple days ago I was in getting ready for the day when Paul came into my bathroom and asked 'Mom will you take me to a Radio Station?'  I looked at him all confused and asked 'Paul exactly why do you want me to take you to a radio station??'  He replied, 'So I can write a song so the whole world can hear it!!'  I informed him that the radio station is just where they play the music, not write it and that he could write a song at our house.  He then asked, 'Well if I write a song here at our house will you take it to the Radio Station for the whole world to hear??'

The kid comes up with the craziest things some time!!

Christmas Day...

For the most part we had a wonderful Christmas.  I say 'most part' because there were parts of Christmas that I hope to never repeat.  I have to wonder sometimes if I am failing horribly as a parent.  Am I teaching my children the REAL meaning of Christmas??  Or do they think it's all about the getting rather than the giving???

We hope everyone had a wonderful and meaningful Christmas!!

We of course headed out to my parents house after our house had calmed down from the Christmas tornado!  We love going out to the ranch to open our Stockings from Grandma and to eat Christmas dinner with the Tenney Clan.  I am not going to lie...we sure did miss my Daddy!!

Porter and Me...if you look close you can see the beautiful necklace Porter bought me.  He had found an ad with this necklace in it, circled it, and put a $100 in his Dad's wallet to buy it for me.  Porter is such a sweet and thoughtful little boy!!
