Where did that come from??

Paul never ceases to crack us up, yet never ceases to try our patients!! Following are a couple conversations that happened this week...

Sitting at the table for lunch...

Tom(a guy that works for Brandon) - 'Paul you are a good boy. Did you know I have a wonderful life. I have so many things to be thankful for!!'
Paul(with his head down) - 'I have a MISERABLE life!'

A little while later...

Paul - 'Dad...if I'm good the rest of the school year, will you take me and my family to Wyoming??'
Brandon - 'Son...what's in Wyoming? Why would you wanna go to Wyoming?
Paul - 'So we can learn Chinese!' (like duh? why else would we go??)

We are basically home schooling Paul right now until they can get him tested and him qualified for an IEP. He cannot handle the regular classroom setting. Paul has severe RAD (Reactive Attachment Disorder) and ODD (Oppositional Defiance Disorder). They both are very real and evident in Paul's life. We only pray that the Lord will set people in his path that will help him overcome these issues. Until then...Brandon and I will continue to Love him and teach him the gospel!! We are not sure what our life would be like without our little Paul!!

We LOVE you Paul!!

Family Photos...

We took Family photos back in September and I am barely getting around to posting them. We had a good time despite the down pour rain and trying to take some on a very busy highway:)

Blogging Overload!!

Just did a MASSIVE blogging update!! I have more to do but figured 5 would be enough for now!!

Happy Heart Day...

This year for Brandon's birthday (which is on Valentine's Day) I decided to surprise him with a trip to Las Vegas to see his parents. I hadn't seen Dad Martineau since he had his heart attack and Brandon had only got to see him for just a bit when he went up there. I had planned on our trip being a total surprise but then Dad Martineau called last Thursday saying he was needing us to come visit. After Brandon talked to him, he got of the phone and said...'I think we need to go to Vegas to see my Dad!' I of course then broke it to him that I had already planned a trip leaving on Sunday. So we left Sunday evening and stayed til Wednesday. We had a great time spending some much needed one on one time and spending time with Dad and Mom Martineau. We got Dad Martineau out of the house and drove around, went and did some shopping, and ate some good food!

Happy Birthday to my one and only Sexy Beast!! Sure glad I have you to keep me in line and to love me no matter what!!

If you can't tell...Brandon gets annoyed with all my picture taking!!

Much Needed Visitors...

Every so often I start needing me a Richard fix. I know that people think I am crazy for saying that, but Richard is like the brother I never knew I always wanted. I told Brandon that all I wanted for Christmas was a plane ticket to Kentucky to go visit Richard...but that didn't end up happening. Instead Richard surprised us and flew his family out here to see us for a couple days. Even though the real reason for their trip was to come see my dad and for Cherilyn to go visit her family, it is ALWAYS great to spend time with them and I have learned that it is never near enough!!

These are the only pictures I took while they were here:(

I put Richard to work fixing our computer!!

Maron's 1st Bday!!!

It's still really hard for me to believe that I am actually going through my last firsts...if that makes sense??!! Maron turned 1 on the 28th of January. It's been hard for me to accept that this is the last 1st birthday we will be celebrating of our kids. She has grown up extremely WAY too fast for my liking. She was walking at 9 months and talks better than half the kids in our house. She has brought so much love and happiness into our home...she has been a good note to end on!!

Things about Maron:

She LOVES to run around with all her other siblings!
She LOVES her daddy yet is a momma's girl too!
She LOVES her PaPa
She does NOT like sitting through Church:)
She loves to go outside
She hates her car seat
She LOVES chocolate and real food...she refused to eat baby food!
She loves to sing and dance!
She loves to blow kisses
She loves to makes animal noises

Words she can say: Momma, Daddy, Baby, MEAN MEAN MEAN, Poopy, Papa, Hi, Bye-Bye, Peek-a-Boo, No No No, Uh-Oh, Doggy, Batman, All Gone, You, and Button

Happy Birthday Maron...We Love You our little Marzie Girl! We sure are grateful that Heavenly Father sent you to our family when he did!!

Mile's First...

Miles got to go on his 1st Airplane Ride!!
He was the lucky one to get to go with Brandon to help move his parents from Washington to Nevada. Brandon and Miles were suppose to leave early on a Friday morning but due to all the nasty weather up in Washington it was delayed til Saturday afternoon. Then they turned around and left Sunday morning to drive a big U-Haul truck down. It took them 3 days to finally get to Las Vegas. Miles had a great time except for the constant teasing from Aunt Dusty!!

He couldn't go without his spiderman back pack

Ready for Take Off!!

He says he does NOT like Aunt Dusty...but deep down he knows he really does!!

Life Changing...

There are events in my life that I consider Life Changing. They come in different forms. There was the day I got married, the day my children were born, our adoption days, the days our children were sealed to us, when I finished a Ragnar, when I heard that my dad had stage 4 liver cancer, when I finished the half marathon, and many more.

On January 12th we got a call that they were taking Dad Martineau to the hospital and that they were thinking he was having a heart attack. This was another one of those days for me. I wasn't quite ready for this. I absolutely love my father-in-law and to think that he could be taken from us scared me. He underwent open heart surgery on January 16th and so far has been doing ok. It has been extremely hard for both Brandon and I to be so far away from them and to not be able to help out! I am extremely grateful that Heavenly Father blessed us by leaving him hear with us!

Pure Craziness...

I have noticed that I have become quite the blog slacker!! It's not because I don't like blogging, but because time seems to keep slipping away from me. Lots has been going on lately and I can't seem to find the time to do anything but that which has to be done. But for record keeping sake...this is what we have been up to lately...

#1 - Dad Martineau had a heart attack and ended up needing to have open heart surgery. Even though we are hundreds of miles away from them this has consumed quite a bit of our time and thoughts. It has been extremely hard for us to be so far away and yet it still consumes a lot of our time due to the constant worry!!

#2 - Brandon took a trip to Washington to, of course see his dad, but to also help his parents and his sister move to Nevada. It took them an extra day to get to Nevada due to weather they ran into on the drive down.

#3 - I went on a quick one day road trip to Las Vegas to pick Brandon and Miles up.

#4 - Maron turned 1 - Yes that is right! My baby girl turned one last Saturday. Where has the time gone? My heart breaks that this will be my last 'firsts'. My baby was suppose to stay a baby dang it!!

#5 - I am the new Cub Master. I am not gonna lie...I was NOT too excited about this calling since I didn't know the 1st thing about scouting. BUT....I put my big girl panties on and dug in! We just had our first Pac Meeting and I think I might end up liking this calling after all:)

#6 - Making the school my 2nd home...Our son Paul has always been a feisty one and we thought over time that might simmer down a bit. Don't get me wrong...we have seen HUGE improvements...but still have our daily challenges with him. Through fasting, prayer, temple attendance, and doctors we hope to some day know exactly how to help him. Until then, I will continue to spend my days popping in and out of the school!!

#7 - Taxes - I never look forward to this time of year when I must sit down for HOURS on end at the computer and put together our year end financials. You would think that I would learn to stay on top of it through out the year, but I don't. Rather, I sit here with a sore butt (which constantly hurts anyway from my broken tailbone) and try to do it all in one week!! You would think I would learn??!!

#8 - Photos...I of course continue to take and edit photos. I love this job, but am grateful for an occasional break in between sessions!!

So that is what we have been up to around the Martineau home! I will post pictures SOON....got LOTS to post!!
