Our Little Get Away!

Brandon and I were suppose to go on a little anniversary get away last month, but we got Mallory two days before we were suppose to take off so it had to be postponed. We decided a couple of weeks ago that we would go up to Utah for the 24th of July. We left last Wednesday, the 22nd, and decided we would go the long way around and would stay a night in Vegas and go to the show Mystere while we were there. Well after spending $180 on tickets to the show we ended up getting stuck in four different spots of construction and got there 30 minutes late after the box office was already closed. I was quite irritated that we had not only wasted the money on gas to drive TOTALLY out of the way, but also that we had wasted $180 on tickets to a show we didn't even get to see. We stayed at the Luxor and left for Utah Thursday morning. Brandon decided to call the Mystere box office to see if they would possibly refund our money, while I was thinking he was crazy for even trying, and to our surprise they refunded all but $10!!!!!! I was SO excited!!! Way to go hubby for givin it a try!! We ended up getting to Ogden about 8:30pm Thursday night. We went and ate at Texas Roadhouse and then went and watched the 10:30pm showing of the new "Harry Potter". I am not a big Harry Potter fan but it was still a good show. Friday we slept in, then spent most of the day visiting Brandon's siblings, then we went to the Ogden Pioneer Day's Rodeo. We LOVE that rodeo...it's one of our favorites! Funny story though....Brandon and I decided we should probably go see if we could buy our tickets to the rodeo early so we didn't have to worry about it after the gates opened, so we headed on over and I waited in the car while Brandon went to purchase them. I waited, and waited, and finally Brandon came back to the car and said, "you will never guess who I just ran into". I obviously had no clue and at that time a mini van drove by really slow staring at us, and Brandon said, "Um, that is April and her parents!" April was Brandon's high school sweetheart for two years. (for those of you that don't know, Brandon lived in Ogden for 3 years and graduated high school there) He hasn't seen her in like 10 years and happens to run into her there...what are the chances?! I thought it was funny! Anyway, Saturday we spent half of our day at our favorite store "Smith & Edwards" (our family vacations are planned around this store), then we headed down to Salt Lake to eat at Rodizio Grill and then go to the "Days of 47 Rodeo" where our friend Kalon Downing was riding. Sunday we went to church with Herzog and his family and they were nice enough to feed us dinner. And then we went over and visited with Brandon's Grandpa & Grandma Martineau for about three hours. Brandon's Uncle John ended up giving us nine 50 lbs bags of powdered milk for our year supply!! Brandon thought he had hit the jack pot!! We had a great time and look forward to our next get away!! A big thanks to my amazing niece Maryssa, my wonderful mom, and my awesome niece Carly for watching our children!!!!

Finally!!

Since we aren't going on a family vacation this summer, we decided to take some money and buy the kids something that would HOPEFULLY keep them in our yard!!! It took Brandon about 4 days to put it together, the problem is that the days that he worked on it were about a week apart, so it was about a month before the kids could play on it. He got it done a couple days before the 4th of July. Needless to say....our kids LOVE it!! It has been one of the best investments we have made!!!

Tenney Reunion 2009

I'm not gonna lie... Our reunion did not feel like a reunion at all. Maybe it's because we see each other all the time so there really is never a BIG reunion when we see each other:o) I have decided to rename it the Tenney Family Three Day Come & Go. I absolutely LOVE my parents ranch, but it has it's pros and cons. The biggest pro is that it is FREE. It is amazing to have a place to meet to get away from the world, if even for a moment, and is a wonderful facility. The biggest con is that it is SO close that people have a hard time breaking away from their everyday lives to come and join us. It was kind of sad that there was basically only four of us siblings that were there the entire time. But needless to say, it was still a great reunion. I have amazing parents who have lead by example and that love their children.
Thanks Dad and Mom for everything you are!!!!
Here are some of my favorite pics...

Quinn..The birthday boy!!

Abbie Gabernabers(that is her nickname)...gotta love this girl!

Miles crawling out of the tent

Peek-a-boo!!!

Tristen looking mad...and there is a reason why!!!
Here is the story:
Saturday night the adults stayed up visiting and when Brandon and I went to bed Tristen was NO WHERE to be found!!!! We searched EVERYWHERE!! It was almost 1:00am and we had been looking for about 30 minutes and still hadn't found him. We looked at the pond...we woke Ben and Tara up to see if maybe he was there...we went and woke my parents up thinking maybe he had walked up to their house...we searched every tent...and pulled apart the big building (even looking in the refrigerator) and could not find him!!! Well after almost an hour of searching I felt prompted to look under the "Luv Shac" bed where Jake and Courtney were sleeping. So I went in with my flashlight, not wanting to wake them, (plus I had already looked in there earlier) and low and behold I found hime! Curled up in a ball sleeping under the bed. We still have not firgured out what and why, but we have learned that someetimes you just don't ask!!!! It's a good thing we love the kid!!

Swim, SWiM, & More SWIM!!!!

I LOVE swim lessons. It is ONE of the things I actually look forward to each summer. Eventhough it is a pain to drive to Snowflake every day, it is worth getting the kids out of the house, keeping them busy for a couple of weeks, and there is always the added plus that is makes them extra tired:o) I decided this year to sign up 9 of the kids and it really has been worth it. Three of the kids are doing a second session right now, but I didn't have it in me to do all 9 of them again!!

LoVe ~ HaTe Relationship!!!

I have a lOVE~HATE relationship! I have had it before, but everytime our relationship starts, it lasts for a few months, we seem to be getting along ok, I see great results, and then BAM....it's over! It's called RUNNING!!!! Well, I actually call it Jalking because I run as fast as some walk and jog. It truly is therapy for me, not so much for everyone else that has to witness it, but I love getting out, especially when I can go with my sister or my friends. As much as I HATE every minute of it, I absolutely LOVE it!!! As I was out running this morning, I decided that right now we have a GREAT relationship and I hope it stays that way.

WHAT A WEEK!!!!!!

I didn't plan for this past week to be so crazy, with the adoption on Tuesday, a baptism on Thursday, the sealing on Friday, and the 4th of July on Saturday, but that is just how it turned out to be. We found out Tuesday night that Brandon's mom would not be able to attend the sealing of our kids, so we decided to do it this past weekend since so many family and friends were here and would be able to attend. The prior four posts are what went on in our lives this week...

Eva's Baptism

Since Eva was over the age of 8 she had to be baptized before we could have her sealed to us. So...Eva was baptized on Thursday, July 2nd, 2009 by her dad. It actually turned out beautiful for having thrown it together last minute. Since she was over the age of 9 she was considered a convert and we had to go through the missionaries to do her baptism. After a little convincing, the missionaries decided to give her the short version of the lessons and she was interviewed by the district leader and was cleared for baptism. Eva is sweet young lady and I wouldn't know what to do without her. She was SO excited to get baptized!!! She had Aunt Jami give the talk on Baptism, Carly sang a special number, and Aunt Melanie gave the talk on the Holy Ghost. We appreciate those family and friends who came to support her, especially at such short notice!!!

Our BEAUTIFUL Eva!!

So glad we have this girl!!
